This page is about how the countries tried to get recruitments/volunteers for the war.

The easies way to get volunteers was to use posters encouraging them to join their army. Also they would persuade them by what was written in newspapers, so if it was about their country it would say good things, but if it was an enemy country they'd paint a bad picture. On the right is an example of a poster which would be used.

 

 

 

 

August to September 1914 volunteers for enlisting grew, but September 1914 to January 1916 the volunteers fell in numbers due to deaths. So they were forced to make the conscription in May 1916, this conscription rules were - all men between 18 - 41 years old had to join the army unless they worked in essential industries.
